Cecille Miguel • 1970–2025

 

Cecille Del Rosario Miguel devoted her life to caring for others. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the Philippines in 1994, she built a career spanning three decades, providing compassionate care in Kuwait before continuing her calling in hospitals throughout Illinois and Washington. Even while raising six children and becoming a successful business owner, nursing remained at the heart of who she was. Known for her generosity, kindness, and tireless work ethic, Cecille touched countless lives through her healing spirit and left a lasting impact on her family, colleagues, patients, and community.

Marioara "Mary" Gaylor • 1968–2026

 

 Marioara "Mary" Gaylor dedicated her career to caring for others with compassion, kindness, and unwavering professionalism. She began her nursing journey as a licensed practical nurse before continuing her service as a telemetry monitor technician, where her knowledge and calm presence were valued by patients and colleagues alike. Mary was known for her joyful spirit, generous heart, and genuine love for those around her. Her warmth, laughter, and dedication to helping others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of compassion will not be forgotten.

Faith McKinney • 1959–2025

 

 Faith McKinney dedicated her life to serving others with extraordinary courage and compassion. As a flight nurse and emergency room nurse, she brought comfort, hope, and expert care to patients during life's most critical moments. Beyond nursing, Faith was an artist, published poet, and avid reader who found beauty in the everyday. Her infectious laughter, playful spirit, and boundless kindness made her unforgettable to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of selfless service, unwavering compassion, and joyful living that continues to inspire her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives she touched.

Sharon Mae Grover • 1946–2026

 

 Sharon Mae Grover dedicated 30 years to compassionate nursing care in Vancouver, Washington. After becoming a registered nurse in 1967, she spent her entire career at Memorial Hospital, which later became PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where she was respected for her skill, kindness, and commitment to her patients. Her nursing career came to an early end in 1997 following a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, but her gentle spirit and resilience remained an inspiration to those who knew her. Sharon will be remembered for her dedication to others and the lasting impact she made throughout her career.

Phaedra "Cricket" Crane • 1970–2026

 

 Phaedra "Cricket" Crane dedicated her life to emergency nursing with extraordinary skill, leadership, and compassion. Beginning her career in Idaho before returning home to Washington, she served as an emergency nurse, travel nurse, nurse manager, and lead nurse across multiple hospitals, earning the respect of colleagues and the trust of countless patients. She continued advancing her education while mentoring others and leading with courage, grace, and humor. Remembered as a nurse's nurse, Cricket's greatest legacy is the comfort, strength, and hope she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her. 

Mary Ann S. Reynolds • 1948–2026

 

Mary Ann Shepard Reynolds dedicated more than four decades to compassionate nursing and exceptional patient care. A 1970 graduate of the University of Portland School of Nursing, she began her career at Portland's Old St. Vincent's Hospital, helping staff Oregon's first four-bed ICU. She spent most of her career in intensive care and cardiac recovery before joining the Short Stay Surgery Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center, where she was honored as Nurse of the Year in 1992. Respected for her expertise, kindness, and unwavering commitment, Mary Ann's legacy continues in the countless lives she touched. 

Barbara Holt • 1957–2026

 

 Barbara Holt dedicated her life to the nursing profession, providing compassionate care and making a lasting difference in the lives of those she served. We are currently gathering information about Barbara's life and career so that her story can be shared with the honor and accuracy it deserves. Please check back as we continue to celebrate her legacy and preserve the memory of her service to others. 

Betty Rose Wassick • 1948–2026

 

 Betty Rose Wassick dedicated her life to caring for others through a career marked by compassion, kindness, and unwavering service. Her commitment to nursing touched the lives of countless patients, families, and colleagues, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her. We are currently gathering information about Betty's life and nursing career so her story can be shared with the honor and respect it deserves. Her legacy of caring and dedication will continue to be remembered as we celebrate the difference she made in the lives of others. 

Karen Jones • 1948–2026

 

 Karen Elaine Jones answered a lifelong calling to serve others through nursing and missionary work. After graduating from the Los Angeles County Medical Center School of Nursing, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a missionary nurse, spending two decades caring for the Teduray people of Mindanao in the Philippines. A respected leader, devoted caregiver, and woman of deep faith, Karen later continued serving patients in Alaska and Washington. Her compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on her family, colleagues, patients, and the communities she faithfully served. 

Marilynn White • 1938–2026

 

Marilynn White  The Southwest Washington Nurse Honor Guard honors her life and service with deep gratitude. A full tribute will be shared soon as we receive additional information from her loved ones.  

Florence Nightingale • 1820–1910

 

Florence Nightingale transformed nursing from a humble calling into a respected profession. Her compassion, leadership, and commitment to patient care saved countless lives and forever changed healthcare. Known as "The Lady with the Lamp," her legacy continues to inspire nurses around the world to serve with skill, courage, and kindness. Though generations have passed since her lifetime, her influence lives on in every nurse who answers the call to care for others. Her light continues to guide the profession she helped create.
